Mufti Mohammad Ashfak D.B.

Mufti Mohammad Ashfak was born in Surat, (Gujarat) India. At the age of 11, he completed Hifz of the Holy Quraan. He qualified as an Alim in Jamia Hussainia, Rander, where he studied traditional Islamic sciences in Arabic, Urdu and Persian. After receiving authorisation in various books, including the six major books of Ahadith, he went on to Jamia Miftahul Uloom, Jalalabad for specialising in the science of issuing religious/legal verdicts (Fatwa). Also, he was a regular attendee of the blessed gatherings of Sheikh Maseehullah rahmatullah alaiyh.(Khalifa of Hazrat Molana Ashraf Ali Thanvi R.A.) Mufti Ashfak took Bayat from India`s Grand Mufti Mufti Mahmoodul Hasan Gangohi Sahib R.A.

Mufti Ashfak received ijazah of Hadith from Sheikhul Hadith Hazrat Molana Ibrahim sahib Indorvi and Grand Sheikhul Hadith, Sheikh Mohammad Yunus (Damat barkatuhum) Saharanpur, India. After completing his studies, he became Principal of Madrasah Anwarul Uloom Jalgaon (Maharashtara)where he taught many Kutub (books) of Fiqh. He was involved in establishing a successful new Islamic institution for young boys. During this period he was involved many religious activities around district of Jalgaon.

In 2001, Mufti sahib moved to Bradford, England under the instruction of his Ustad. He has been Imam in Masjid Noorul Islam for 12 years and is currently an Imam of Masjid-e-Umar-e- Farooq (Bradford), Khateeb of Makki Masjid (Halifax) and a teacher of Fiqh at Eternal Light School (Bradford).
